'Pilgrims of the Heart' Songs of Marist Spirituality (2011)

PilgrimsOfTheHeart-front_1.jpgOver the years I have composed and recorded songs with a particular Marist flavour. 'We Sing Chanel' in honour of St Peter Chanel was recorded in 2003 to commemorate the bi-centenary of his birth. The song features on this album along with 14 other tracks with a particular Marist connection.  Salve Regina is an iconic song for all the branches of the Marist Family. 'Mary Gift' is a particular favourite and I am pleased to include on this collection a song in honour of St Marcellin Champagnat entitled 'Flow Gentle River' in reference to the River Gier that flows through the Hermitage down from the village of La Valla where Marcellin began his first school. I stayed at the Hermitage in 2010 as part of the Marist Family Renewal Programme. If you would like to view the lyrics of the songs included on this album and a brief description of each song, you are welcome to click on 'lyrics' and then the title of the album. I hope these songs will be helpful and inspirational for Marists in New Zealand and throughout the world.
