Concert to Celebrate St Mary's Basilica, Invercargill

12 February 2008

Last Saturday, I was a guest at a concert to celebrate the new look Basilica. What a marvellous transformation. I had been in concert several years ago in Invercargill and I must say what a difference the construction, paint and furnishings have made. The Stations of the Cross are particularly striking.

Thanks to Malcolm Hiddleston for the invitation and brains behind the concert. I was thrilled to perform with all the talented young people he invited to participate. Greetings to Libby, Jack, Brandon, Corey, Patrick and Tim. It was 'awesome' to be part of the evening with you. Keep on sharing your talent and bringing so much joy to people. All the best for the year and your various endeavours.

I wish to make mention of the Māori group who opened the evening and to Stanley who gave us a stirring renditon of the Hebrews Slave Chorus on the organ.

Thanks for all the hospitality while with you, Frs Paul and Brian(Doc), Pauline and Marilyn.

When I get a chance I will post some of the photos from the concert kindly snapped for me during proceedings.

Every Blessing and I look forward to when we next meet.
