15 December 2002

Greetings one and all! My time here in Chicago is rapidly coming to an end. My individual sabbatical programme at CTU(Catholic Theological Union) has ended. The last few days included a number of fond farewells and many of my new friends returned to their various corners of the world. Thank you all for the conversations, the stories, the questions and the inspiration. All the best for the settling in process. Fr Michael Gormley, Columban from NZ will be home in Wellington about now. Kia ora, Michael.

Some of the locals in the parish organised a concert for me last week. I performed with the children from the primary school. What a wonderful afternoon we had. They are calling me New Zealand's Marty Haugen or if you prefer, John Denver.

I will be here at the parish of St Thomas the Apostle until the 27th of December. I am dreaming of a white Christmas! May I extend to you all a hope filled and blessed Christmas. Until next time-love Chris
