Bill Afeaki. It was just like old times. ThI was invited to give a concert at St Bens in Newton on Saturday. I was joined by old friends and singing partners, Joyce and anks Bill and Joyce and Penny and Lee for your invitation. Angela, Bill and Joyce's daughter recently returned from the States, performed a number of her own compositions. She is talented and gifted young woman. A highlight was her rendition of 'Panis Angelicus' from the historic pulpit. Pete van Gent provided lighting and sound and the church which has been recently upgraded was looking absolutely surperb. It was great catching up with everyone again. I used to help with parish singing when I lived in Auckland but this was the first time I had given a concert there. I am still on crutches but got by kneeling with my bad leg on an office chair. I'll do anything for a little sympathy. Congratulations to all involved!!!!

Another wonderful event took place on Tuesday at the Blockhouse Bay Baptist Church. A concert morning and refreshments for local elderly people. The event has been going for over 10 years. There would have been around 200 people in the Church and I shared a number of my songs with them. They loved 'I want to sing with you,Mum, Sons of Gallipoli and 'You raise me up'. I felt so affirmed and blessed by all the conversations after the concert. Thanks to Matt Duxfield for the invitation and to Maurice for his assistance and transport given my disability. Congratultions on the fine work you do to bring joy to so many people. more»
